CARTAGENA SEA FRONT RENOVATION

It is essential to understand the different urban conditions that the city presents; therefore, each belt is nominated based on a specific concept, whose characteristics would be established as premises of urban design, seeking to highlight the implicit potentials in each corridor; we are talking about 5 vectors that adjective their spatiality according to their theme, their speed, their programmatic complement, and feed back into a proactive dynamic of sustainable development.

The approach is based on two concepts; the first, part of the consideration of the soil as skin that limits the earth, appropriating the textures of its environment and as a basic element of urban design, shaping the surface, to control the size and extension of the space, to let it flow or concentrate it , to invite to travel or stay, to establish differences or continuities.

The second, has to do with the requalification of the natural elements that make presence in the site, such as light, earth, water and vegetation, elements invited to its characterization, which allow a diversified construct within the emotional field of reactions between the place and the subject.

The integration of both concepts focuses on the development of the whole as a sum of panoramas, landscapes that contrast between the dynamic and the static, in a constant search to intensify relations in the urban plan, to reconcile infrastructures with the city and with the sea.
